Beaumont Unified appoints Bianca Zubia as program specialist; board adopts layoff resolution for CNS position

At the March 4 meeting, Beaumont Unified trustees announced the appointment of Bianca Zubia to the position of program specialist and approved a resolution to reduce a classified Nutrition Services (CNS) position.
The board introduced Bianca Zubia, who joins Beaumont Unified from Ontario‑Montclair School District, and she briefly addressed the board, thanking district leaders and introducing family members in the audience. The board noted Zubia’s educational background and prior roles as an instructional coach and special‑education professional.
The board then considered Resolution 2024‑25‑18, authorizing the layoff and reduction of classified positions due to lack of work or funds in a CNS role. An assistant superintendent of human resources explained the position has become unnecessary with the district’s move to Universal Lunch; duties previously used to verify free/low‑cost meal eligibility are no longer required. The assistant superintendent said the affected employee remains employed by the district in another position within the same classification.
Trustees moved and approved the resolution. The board also approved certificated, classified and administrative personnel assignment orders during the same meeting.
