Franklin City Council approves consent items, accepts small donation and renews annual Flock camera maintenance contract

Franklin City Council approved routine business and several budget adjustments at its April 14 meeting, including acceptance of a small neighborhood-donation for the police and renewal of the Flock camera maintenance lease.
Council amended the consent agenda to remove one item and then approved the remainder. The council accepted a $129.35 donation from the Holly Null Neighborhood Watch to the police department for National Night Out activities.
Council also approved an amendment to the FY24-25 operating budget to cover a $25,000 renewal for the third year of the Flock license/maintenance contract. Staff said the contract covers 10 camera leases (roughly $2,500 per camera per year) and associated cellular connections and maintenance; the vendor replaces equipment that fails and provides access to the vendornetwork used by regional partners. On the camera renewal vote, Dr. Johnson was recorded as abstaining; the motion carried.
Separately the council adopted proclamations recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 1319), National Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week, Fair Housing Month (April 2025) and National Lineman Appreciation Day (April 18). No binding policy changes were made as part of the proclamations.
