Florence mayor, Country Thunder preview festival as organizers estimate about 30,000 will attend

Organizers estimate the festival will draw about 30,000 attendees at peak and that campsites can hold "upwards towards 8,000 campers," Jerry of Country Thunder said. Jerry described Florence as an ideal kickoff site for Country Thunder's season and emphasized the festival’s tradition of showcasing both headliners and up-and-coming acts.
"We have seven festivals and to start here is always something that we look forward to," Jerry said, adding that camping culture and on-site communities are a major part of the event’s appeal.
