Halifax supervisors enter closed session for personnel, prospective business and contract discussions

At the close of the public agenda the Halifax County Board of Supervisors voted to enter closed session pursuant to Virginia Code §2.2-3711. The motion cited subsections A1 (discussion of prospective candidates for employment and personnel matters), A5 (discussions concerning prospective business or industry or expansion of existing business), and A29 (discussion of the award of a public contract involving expenditures of public funds). The motion was seconded and approved by the board; the public meeting recording was stopped and the board moved to the conference room for the closed session.

By statute, actions taken and topics discussed in closed session may be reported out in public only as permitted under Virginia law; the board gave no additional details in the public portion of the meeting.
