Rochester Hills — The City Council unanimously approved a resolution recognizing the Cadman Foundation, doing business as Healing Complex Kids, as a nonprofit organization so it may pursue a charitable gaming license. Julie Cadman and her husband Dana described their Pathway to Hope resource guide — supported by an Oakland County grant — and promoted a fundraising book‑exchange event on Nov. 2.
Council member Mr Blair moved the recognition resolution; it passed without opposition. Council members praised the foundation’s work serving families with children who have autism and related needs.
On the consent agenda the council also approved two routine purchase authorizations: a facilities blanket purchase order with Garrett Door Company (Pontiac) for overhead door maintenance not to exceed $40,000 through Sept. 30, 2025, and a DPS blanket purchase order with Peterson Brothers (Roseville) for dirt and debris hauling not to exceed $100,000 through Sept. 30, 2026. Both items passed unanimously on motions recorded in the meeting minutes.
The meeting adjourned; the next regular meeting was announced for Oct. 21, 2024.
