Committee screens Joseph C. Belongia for State Election Commission executive director

Committee members praised his experience and the subcommittee's vetting process; Senator Elliott said Belongia answered questions candidly during a recent subcommittee meeting and that the subcommittee moved the nomination out unanimously. Belongia confirmed he had no conflicts and discussed internal reorganization to improve agency functioning. The subcommittee reported the screening favorably to the full committee.
