Clackamas County appoints three to parks advisory board; names DHS representative to public‑safety council

The Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners voted April 7 to fill multiple advisory‑board vacancies.
Andrew, speaking for staff, told the board the Parks Advisory Board had three openings after recent resignations and that recruitment from October 2025 through January 2026 produced 11 applicants. Staff recommended Steve Glazer, Brian Echer and Carrie Waters for first terms. Commissioner Savis moved to appoint the three candidates; the motion was seconded and the clerk recorded aye votes from Commissioners Helm, West, Savis and Chair Roberts. The motion passed 4–0.
The board also considered one vacancy on the Local Public Safety Coordinating Council, a seat reserved by state statute for an Oregon Department of Human Services representative. Staff recommended Jennifer Ricks for a first term. Commissioner Helm moved to appoint Ricks; the motion was seconded and approved 4–0.
Clackamas County staff said both items will appear on the board’s April 9 consent agenda for formal placement on the record. No members of the public spoke on either appointment during the meeting.
