The Brockton School Committee received an update on the Massachusetts School Building Authority process and a community outreach plan for a proposed Brockton High School building project.
Superintendent Dr. Teleani said the district will host a second community forum on April 27 at South Middle School to present work completed so far in the MSBA process and answer questions. The forum will be broadcast live online and translation services will be provided, she said.
Committee members emphasized the importance of a full house to demonstrate public support and discussed advocacy steps. One member said she had a meeting scheduled with the state treasurer and MSBA leadership to advocate for additional funding, and committee members encouraged outreach to pack the forum and to brief state lawmakers on the project’s community impact. The committee did not take a vote at the meeting but urged members and residents to attend and submit questions in advance.
