DPW Director Chris Signoli said the city received approximately $5,001,900.65 in Chapter 90 funds and supplemented those dollars with additional municipal funding to reach a $6.5 million paving program expected to resurface about 6.5 center‑line miles. Signoli said Surrey Road is included on the list of streets planned for paving this fiscal year.
Signoli emphasized that, despite the larger allocation, the program still covers less than 2% of the city's 480 center‑line miles and that pavement backlogs remain significant. Council members thanked DPW and approved the order by roll call.
