Rules committee re-refers bills, approves appointments and passes annual corrective bill

The Rules and Executive Nominations Committee moved several procedural items and approved the annual corrective bill during its session.
Vice Chair Marvin Holmes moved to re-refer SB 769 (University System of Maryland Academic Facilities Bonding Authority), SB 890 (Insurance Captive Insurers Premium Receipts Tax Moratorium and Study), SB 947 (Maryland Transit Administration Reform Act) and SB 10007 (Prior Authorization of State Debt Alterations) to their appropriate committees; the motion was seconded and the committee approved the re-referrals by voice vote.
Holmes also read several recess appointments for referral to the General Assembly floor: Angel Lewis Perez to the Caroline County Board of Elections; Brenda W. Sharter and Brent C. Fuks to the Chesapeake College Board of Trustees; Gregory Eggenrod to the Caroline County Board of Licensed Commissioners; and Erica Austern Hoot to the Chesapeake College Board of Trustees. The committee approved those referrals by voice vote and the names will appear on the General Assembly floor for confirmation votes.
Earlier in the meeting Ryan Bishop of the Department of Legislative Services summarized Senate Bill 844, the annual corrective bill, telling the committee: "There are no fiscal or operational impacts to the corrective bill." The committee then approved the corrective bill by voice vote; the transcript records the approval but does not record a numerical roll-call tally.
The committee adjourned to allow members to be on the floor at 3:00 p.m. Items referred by the committee will be considered by the committees and the General Assembly according to regular schedule and rules.
