“An ordinance where we do a 2 year term for mayor and see how that can work,” Mayor Sackett said, and the commission made a motion to move forward with a staff presentation. Commissioner Boney moved the motion and it received a second; the roll call was unanimous.
Commissioners noted the change would be adopted by commission action and not by a public referendum. Commissioner McMillan and others flagged technical issues to resolve, such as vacancy provisions and how partial terms might be filled.
