He said the county is promoting a newly named industrial tract — the Mid Iowa Industrial Site — and working with Alliant Energy to assemble site information for prospects.
The presenter also described ongoing coordination with regional partners and workforce programs. He said the office is working with University of Northern Iowa business services on succession planning for aging business owners and with Iowa Valley Community College to design an artificial‑intelligence workshop for local employers.
On state policy, the presenter said his office is monitoring legislation that could affect local economic development tools. He cited a proposed biodiesel production tax credit change under consideration and said the Iowa Economic Development Authority omnibus bill and property‑tax bills (House File 2745 and Senate File 2472) were active in committee. He warned the board the bills could change local revenues and that his office is engaging legislators on behalf of local businesses.
