The council adopted an ordinance on April 6 amending section 10-4-13 of the Two Rivers municipal code (signs not requiring a permit) to tighten the timeframe for contractor or construction signage.
Under the revised code, contractor signs must be removed within 30 days after construction is completed or prior to occupancy, whichever occurs first. The change replaces the prior allowance of up to 60 days annually and was recommended unanimously by the Plan Commission at its March 9 meeting. City staff told the council the amendment provides clearer enforcement standards while still allowing signs during active construction.
The public hearing attracted no speakers. Council moved to waive reading and adopt the ordinance and approved it by roll call.
