Burr Ridge approves 2025 road program and kicks off draft five-year CIP

Public Works staff presented a wrap-up of the 2024 road program and the Street & Pathway Committee’s recommended 2025 road program at the Jan. 13 Burr Ridge meeting. The 2024 work included resurfacing in several subdivisions and a large contract for 83rd Street; staff reported the projects largely finished near budget and outlined corrective maintenance, patching and crack sealing needs for 2025.
Trustees moved and approved the committee’s recommendations for 2025 by roll call. The 2025 program includes resurfacing of streets assessed as past their prime, expanded corrective maintenance and selected pathway projects. Public Works described coordination with Cook County resurfacing and grants that helped fund the 79th Street sidewalk project.
Evan then presented the draft FY26–30 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) as a public kickoff: the draft schedules roughly $7 million of CIP for the coming year and about $20 million over five years, with a large share directed to water-fund projects (water-main replacements, pump improvements and an Elm Street project funded by external grants). Evan said staff intends to fund the program primarily with operating balances, grants, business-district funds, and available hotel/motel and motor-fuel tax funds, and that the draft assumes no new debt for the projects presented.
Trustees asked for further detail on contract estimates and funding allocations. Staff said the CIP presentation is workshop direction; any final budget and project approvals will come through subsequent budget and ordinance actions.
