Glynn County opens bids for Health Department chiller replacement; low bid recorded from Mock Plumbing and Mechanical

"We received five bids," Thompson said, and she repeated the county's standard notice that "the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee."
Thompson read the five bids on the record: Air Management Systems Incorporated (Baxley) — $196,543; Bowen Mechanical Contractors Incorporated (Savannah) — $177,740; Certified Electric Incorporated (Brunswick) — the transcript records a garbled amount shown as "$135,7290"; John F. Pennaker Company Incorporated (Buford) — $197,760; and Mock Plumbing and Mechanical Incorporated (Savannah) — $128,340. Thompson said a bid tabulation sheet will be posted on the county website once it is available.
Thompson said procurement staff and the project manager will review paperwork for accuracy and completeness, and that the recommended award will be presented first to the finance committee and then to the full Glynn County Board of Commissioners at its next scheduled monthly meeting. She invited questions via her county email and the county website.
Because portions of the recorded bid figures in the public stream were formatted unclearly for some bidders, the county's posted bid tabulation is the authoritative record for exact totals and will be used in the review process. The bid opening itself does not award or reject bids; it records offers for subsequent review and recommendation.
