Enrollment committee: The enrollment committee found numerous House bills in order and ready for the speaker's signature, including House Bills 3, 5, 6, 142, 144, 169, 176, 178, 212, 236, 264, 305, 313, 366, 369, 387, 419, 480, 506, 521, 542, 566, 577, 607, 627, 642, 647, 651, 652, 676, 689, 692, 778, House Joint Resolutions 24 and 50.
House Bill 36 (respiratory care): The House concurred with the Senate committee substitute and Senate floor amendment two, and the bill was finally passed as amended (final passage recorded on the House floor).
Procedural notes: The House suspended rules multiple times to take bills from the rules committee into the orders of the day. Conference committee appointments were made for Senate Bill 198 after the Senate did not concur with House changes. The House recessed to the call of the chair later in the afternoon.
Why it matters: Many of the enrollment items are noncontroversial procedural steps to finalize bills for the governor's signature; some items on the orders of the day contained significant policy changes described in separate articles.
