Chair introduced the resolution and moved that the committee strike Part 14 and remove lines referencing Brandon L. Beach; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The committee then approved a motion to report the bill do pass as amended and sent it to the floor for the next stage of consideration.
The change was described on the floor as a scrivener- and renumbering-type amendment to remove an inadvertently duplicated reference that had appeared on both the House and Senate versions. Committee members did not record further debate on the substance of the road names themselves.
The committee’s action means the House bill will return to the full Senate with the struck language removed, and the sponsor said staff would handle any necessary renumbering and punctuation fixes before floor action.
