The Brookfield Town selectboard elected a new leadership team and reshuffled committee assignments at its March 17 meeting.
A selectboard member moved that Rich serve as chair and the motion passed by voice vote; the board then approved a motion to make Wson vice chair. Members said they would give newly seated member Jan first choice of committee assignments. Jan told the board she had served on the heritage commission and said she would like to learn municipal records, joint loss, and ZBA work.
The reorganization came as part of a brief reorientation at the start of the agenda. Board members confirmed committee coverage across heritage, conservation, cemetery, planning, and website responsibilities. The board also voted to temporarily close the website selection committee after staff said the new site launch had slipped to March 27; members said they preferred staff to manage updates for now rather than undertake another vendor transition.
Board members moved and approved the committee-closure motion without extended discussion. One member said the selection team had done a good job but that it no longer seemed necessary to maintain a standing committee while staff completed the site transition.
The leadership changes and committee assignments set the board’s administrative structure for the coming year; members said they will return with proposals and vendor comparisons for the town’s remaining operational projects at future meetings.
