The property lies near Sheffield Farms in Rockfish Township and is expected to take access from Fair Haven Trail. Town staff recommended initial zoning of R7.5 (residential) as the next procedural step.
Applicant representative Larry King told the board he was present to answer questions: “I’m just here if you have any questions,” he said. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing.
After the public-comment period closed, a commissioner moved to approve the annexation and authorize initial R7.5 zoning; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote with no opposition.
The approval authorizes staff to continue the statutory process for annexation and zoning decisions, including any required notices and follow-up hearings; the board did not record a roll-call vote in the meeting minutes.
The board scheduled no additional public hearings on this agenda item at the Jan. 20 meeting; staff will proceed with the next administrative steps for initial zoning and report back as required.
