The Town of Needham Retirement Board temporarily adjourned its open meeting March 25 and voted to enter an executive session to hear a cybersecurity presentation from a representative of MAYA, the Massachusetts interlocal insurance agency.
Chair Michelle Valancort told members MAYA provides several insurance lines to the town and that the agency would brief the board on cybersecurity matters. Board member Jay Steves moved to adjourn to executive session and John Kowiki seconded; a roll-call vote was taken and members voted yes (Mr. Steves, Mr. Kowiki, Mr. Merles, Mr. Swanson and the chair). The board instructed staff to move attendees into the separate executive-session link for the closed briefing.
The board planned to reconvene in open session afterward to complete remaining business.
