Pike County weighing website vendors as server costs surge toward six figures

County Administrator Kristi Dischinger said the county’s current website provider will no longer support the site and that no content can be added after October 2026, meaning a new site must be live by Dec. 31, 2026. She presented three vendor options: CivicPlus (an initial porting price quoted around $16,381 plus $5,500 in annual hosting, with an optional AudioEye accessibility add-on of roughly $3,700), Revize (quoted around $7,800 to port with a $3,570 annual hosting cost and a multi‑year hosting commitment quoted), and ProudCity (about $5,500 to port and $3,700 annual hosting with a 12‑week training period). Dischinger asked for more time to return with a recommendation.
Separately, Dischinger said the county’s server- replacement quote has risen sharply since budget planning: a quote near $49,000 last summer is now closer to $85,000, a change she attributed to market demand for components used in AI systems and constrained supply. Auditor Judith Gumbel cautioned commissioners that county operations would be severely disrupted if the server failed, while Commissioner Jeff Nelson favored waiting to see whether prices fall. President Mark Flint asked staff to gather more vendor details and confirm whether the quoted prices would be honored short-term.
