Anderson said the district is collating student files and other documentation for auditors and will facilitate parent engagement sessions as requested by auditors.
Tiffany Franklin, chief accounting officer, presented a budget snapshot and said the district has expended about 62% of state funding for the current fiscal year and is working through several contract negotiations that are expected to finalize by the end of April. Franklin reported preliminary FY27 competitive approvals for the district's SuperApp and noted a recent $25,000 award for a computer science technical assistance grant.
Board members were told that some transcripted numeric details were presented with unclear formatting; for any amounts where the record was garbled the board will need to confirm official figures in the finance office's published report. Franklin said the preliminary FY27 budget approval from the Louisiana Department of Education is expected in April and final approval will follow from the appropriate state authorities prior to the July 1 start of the fiscal year.
