The City Council approved a $5,000 contribution to Health Access & Research for Communities (HARC) to fund the organization’s 2025 triennial survey of the Coachella Valley.
Dr. Jenna, representing HARC, told the council the survey is launching data collection imminently and includes expanded data points this cycle such as air quality, disaster preparedness, and the impacts of smoke from wildfires and flooding. She said cities use the HARC dataset for program planning and grant writing and that the resource will remain free and publicly available.
Councilmember remarks indicated past city contributions to the triennial survey in 2016, 2019 and 2022 at the same amount. On motion and unanimous vote the council approved a $5,000 contribution for the 2025 cycle.
Staff did not list a new dedicated budget source in the meeting record; funding was approved as a council action on the consent/administrative calendar.
