Board approves routine resolutions, ARPA appropriation and several contracts; Brown Law engagement passes 2-1

The Madison County Board of Commissioners adopted a series of routine resolutions during its March 24 meeting.
Resolutions approved included payment of invoices as certified by the auditor, an increase of $66,000 in appropriations to an ARPA grant fund, and acceptance of an Ohio Airport Improvement Program grant contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation. The board also approved an independent-contractor agreement with Great Lakes Community Action Partnership, an amendment to an existing process-server services authorization, and budget adjustments for the Veterans Service Commission and related supply lines. The board recorded roll-call votes for each resolution; those matters passed unanimously where recorded.
The most contested roll call concerned the engagement letter with Brown Law Office LLC to represent the county in a neighboring-county solar matter. The board approved that engagement with two votes in favor and one opposed. The clerk will complete the engagement paperwork and staff said they will report back on next steps.
Staff said procurement-related items (sealed-bid openings) will return with award recommendations at follow-up meetings after staff checks bidder qualifications and performs bid calculations.
