The City of South Lake Tahoe Planning Commission approved a major design review, a TRPA permit and the allocation and transfer of 1,033 square feet of commercial floor area to allow the Tahoe Cider Company to redevelop and expand an existing commercial building at 2280 Lake Tahoe Boulevard.
Gretchen Skullman, an assistant planner with the City of South Lake Tahoe, told commissioners that the applicant, Ted Brown of Tahoe Cider Company LLC, requested the transfer to accommodate a cider production area, storage, a tap room and limited food service. Skullman said the project would reduce on-site coverage to about 15,579 square feet, add sidewalks and landscaping, and is consistent with the Tahoe Valley Area Plan (TVAP) and the city’s scenic corridor guidance. She said a TRPA mobility mitigation fee is required for the change of use.
