The Waterloo City Council approved four ordinances authorizing annexation and zoning changes for multiple parcels adjacent to the city.
The council adopted ordinance 1923 to authorize an annexation agreement with S&T Property LLC (owner Edward Brisco) for about 13 acres at 6627 Illinois State Route 3. The ordinance was moved, seconded and passed on roll call.
The council then approved ordinance 1924 to annex and zone a similar approximately 13-acre parcel owned by S&P Pro LLC and Edward D. Bristo at the same Route 3 address. Next, ordinance 1925 was approved to annex roughly 23.7 acres tied to a Rimlock Phase 7 development, which council members said will remain R-1 residential and will connect Rimlock to Legacy. Finally, ordinance 1926 to annex and zone about 23.71 acres owned by DMW Trust was approved.
Council members voiced general support during brief discussion; city planning and the city attorney were cited as having worked on the agreements throughout the year. Each ordinance was approved by roll call during the meeting.
The ordinances will add newly annexed land to Waterloo’s corporate boundaries and apply the stated zoning classifications. The council did not provide detailed covenants or development schedules on the record; where specific developer conditions were discussed, they were described in general terms during the presentations.
The approvals complete the council’s formal action on the four annexation items; implementation steps and any required permits or construction approvals will follow through city planning processes.
