The Macomb City Council approved a side letter with Teamsters Local 627 on June 16 that reaffirms some previous side‑letter pay provisions and establishes a new stipend for GIS duties.
Miss Scalf presented the side letter, saying one portion re‑adopts terms from the prior contract related to overtime and standby pay (noted as previously omitted when the new contract was compiled). The new provision creates a $6,500 per year stipend for a GIS technician role; the stipend will be paid only to an employee who meets the job description and qualifications prepared by the public works director and with assignment at the discretion of the public works director and approval of the city administrator.
Staff said the finance director reviewed the stipend and did not expect the additional pay to materially affect the public works budget. Council adopted the agreement by roll call.
