Staff member announces retirement from Development Committee; John Sterrett likely to cover items

Near the end of the Aug. 11 meeting, a staff member announced their retirement effective Sept. 5 after almost eight years staffing the Development Committee and thanked members for their collaboration.
"I am retiring as of September 5th," the staff member said, adding that working with the chair and committee had been a pleasure and that John Sterrett has covered the position when the staffer has been on vacation or sick and will probably sit in to cover many Planning Commission items going forward.
Committee members offered congratulations and praised the staff member's service. The meeting adjourned after a motion by Alderman Birch Ferguson.
