Resident asks about Hunter Street lift-station delay and potential contract penalties; council pledges follow-up

"Did anybody bother to read the contract that was signed ... the owner of the construction company is to pay the city somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 a day with being late," Wild said.
Council members told Wild they did not have the contract information available during the meeting and could not answer immediately; staff said they would follow up to provide details. The council made no formal finding or motion related to the contract during the session.
The exchange underscores a citizen concern about project schedule adherence and contract enforcement. Council members and staff will need to review the procurement and contract documents to determine whether liquidated damages apply and to report back to the public at a future meeting.
