Sheriff Aaron Brown and members of his command staff attended the April 2 Henry County Commission meeting to present the sheriff's March 2026 report and answer commissioners' questions.
Sheriff Brown and his captains reviewed operations and described activity across their areas of responsibility. When Presiding Commissioner Jim Stone asked whether the department offers public narcotics education classes, Stone said the community "needs to be educated on the new things out there" and requested follow-up on whether such programs are offered.
Commissioner Jake Bradley raised the Chance Edmonson matter, noting the commission had received periodic emails about the case. Sheriff Brown said he "supports the mother who is sending the emails," but added the department considers the case closed. No further investigative action by the sheriff's office was recorded at the meeting.
The commission did not take any formal action related to the sheriff's report during the session; the discussion was recorded as informational and for follow-up where commissioners requested additional public-education outreach.
