A Lifelines volunteer and survivor, Misty Lee, spoke to the council about her personal experience and the role of the center in providing hospital advocacy, court support and ongoing counseling. "I myself am a survivor of sexual violence when I was 19... the services they offer are vital to anyone that loves or even comes into contact with a survivor," Lee said, describing long‑term effects such as PTSD and how wraparound services helped her recovery.
The proclamation listed 2025 service statistics presented by the center (as read into the record) including program counts and client contacts; the council and mayor recognized the center’s outreach, hotline work and education programs.
Next steps: the city issued the proclamation at the meeting; Lifelines representatives thanked the council and no formal council action followed beyond the proclamation.
