Tinley Park board unanimously adopts zoning map, building-code updates and $1.81 million parking-lot contract

TINLEY PARK, Ill. — The Tinley Park Village Board on Tuesday unanimously approved a slate of routine municipal items, including a $1,809,473.68 contract for Beckstein parking-lot improvements, updates to local building and electrical codes and the village's official 2026 zoning map.
Trustees voted by roll call to adopt resolution 2026-R-033, authorizing McGill Construction LLC to complete parking-lot improvements and related change orders not to exceed $1,809,473.68. Trustee Bill Brennan presented the contract and trustees recorded unanimous "yes" votes on the motion.
The board also approved ordinance 2026-O-017 to adopt the 2024 International Residential Code, the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code and the 2023 National Electrical Code for Tinley Park. Trustees cited prior Committee-of-the-Whole review and adopted the ordinance by unanimous roll call.
Trustees likewise adopted resolution 2026-R-036 to approve the village's official 2026 zoning map, which reflects map amendments through Dec. 31, 2025. Multiple zoning- and special-use matters also cleared the board with unanimous votes, including variations and special uses for projects on Pleasant Avenue, 159th Street and industrial properties.
Two personnel actions were confirmed. The board approved the appointment of Anthony Domaniani as diesel mechanic, effective April 8, 2026, and appointed James Jarolimak as property and evidence custodian, citing Jarolimak's more than three decades of law-enforcement experience.
In other business, trustees authorized the Village Manager to finalize a fixed-cost bulk fuel contract with L. Warren Oil Company Inc. and discussed that procurement in the context of futures markets and scheduling.
The meeting opened with a pair of business-spotlight presentations: Nixon Embroidery and Walk Your Plans. Patron Nick of Nixon Embroidery thanked the board and described new in-house digital sign services; Patty Glotz, co-owner of Walk Your Plans, said the studio offers life-scale plan projections that "save everyone time and money" and help designers and builders avoid costly errors.
Public comment included a Cook County Southland Juvenile Justice Council representative who offered information on youth wraparound services and a resident who asked the village to improve parade-related no-parking signage after the March Irish Parade.
All recorded votes in the meeting were unanimous "yes." The board adjourned at the close of the agenda.
The village provided staff memos and prior Committee-of-the-Whole review for several items, and the board signaled a budget hearing scheduled for April 21, 2026, as the next procedural step.
