The Wissahickon School District board voted to partner with the Donovan Group to conduct a district-wide communications audit, the superintendent said during the board's April meeting.
The superintendent described the work as stakeholder-driven: the Donovan Group will survey stakeholders, interview communications staff at school and district levels, and deliver a 12-month action plan with steps to improve messaging, outreach and communication safety protocols.
Board members who spoke in support cited feedback gathered by the superintendent while she was meeting with community groups earlier in her tenure and said an independent review could provide fresh perspective. "One of the themes that kept coming up was improving communication from the administration to the district," a board member said.
A motion to approve the engagement (action item 8.1) was made, seconded and passed by voice vote. The administration said more details would be posted in the communications committee packet on BoardDocs.
