The Stoughton Area School District heard a report on open enrollment during its regular meeting.
Dr. Keys said the district had 12 applications to open-enroll into the district and 18 applications to open-enroll out of the district at the time of the report. He explained that open enrollment is a rolling process with a primary window that is closing at the end of the month and an alternate open-enrollment period that begins July 1; enrollment decisions are acted on after the relevant window closes. Dr. Keys said he would compile additional counts and explain the alternate-window criteria at a future board meeting.
Board members asked follow-up questions about how many students typically use the alternate window and about timing; Dr. Keys said he did not have that number offhand and would provide a synopsis to the full board.
