Commission reviews Champ Gallery 'Youth Visions of Tomorrow' submissions; staff to accommodate most pieces

Several commissioners recommended offering pricing guidance for student artists who listed low or no prices, and staff volunteered to compile resources on fair pricing and presentation.
On the unfinished interactive piece described as a "trash tree," commissioners agreed it could be considered for placement if completed by the opening; otherwise staff would follow up with the artist.
The commission also expressed interest in a field trip to Artists Studio in the Foothills to better understand local artist networks and possible liaison roles.
Staff will finalize hang logistics, notify artists of any limits for incomplete pieces, print interpretive materials and proceed toward the May 28 opening. No formal roll-call vote on individual Champ Gallery selections was recorded during the discussion.
