Student urges Manhattan Beach to pilot educator housing under AB 2295

He said the legislation allows housing on district property with objective standards, a minimum of 10 units, affordability and priority for school employees.
Stern recommended a simple memorandum of understanding between the city and MBUSD, a feasibility study and community workshops. "If we do this right, Robinson can be the model for shared public use and educator housing that counts towards our state housing goals and keeps the heart of our community right here," he said.
Outcome: This was a public comment request; council did not take formal action but the suggestion was recorded for staff consideration.
