Assistant Superintendent Wei Stevens presented the proposed 2025–26 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and described its alignment with the district strategic plan and state-required LCAP checklist. Stevens said the three-year LCAP cycle continues and noted the addition of a sixth goal to address specialized funding for Connley Carabelloo and Dakota School for Independent Study.
Stevens said the district gathered more than 6,200 stakeholder surveys and convened parents and students (fifth grade and up) for input. "We added students in our parent advisory committee so that provides us some counsel and an opportunity to provide input on the LCAP development," Stevens said. She said the draft LCAP (about 157 pages) outlines 88 goals and connected action tables that map expenditures to actions.
Stevens said the board will hold a second hearing and be asked to adopt the LCAP at its June 17 meeting; the county office will then review the adopted plan in July and provide guidance. The board opened the public hearing on the LCAP and recorded no speakers, then closed the hearing.
The presentation emphasized compliance with the mandated LCAP process and included a budget snapshot intended for families. Stevens said the district will continue to refine action tables and supporting appendices before adoption.
