Students return from HBCU tour and report college-bound outcomes

A student-produced recap video was shown; students and chaperones described visits, cultural sites and the impact of representation on college aspirations. Organizers said this year's tour included 38 students and announced that the 2026 trip would center on New Orleans and Mississippi with selection criteria unchanged except for an added community-service requirement (10 hours) for applicants.
Trustees and staff praised the program’s role in widening students’ college options and building cultural understanding. Board members encouraged broader outreach and a focus on equitable access so more students can benefit from the experience.
