Trustees highlight Hall of Fame, CTE visits, veterans events and request follow-ups on safety and policy

At the start of the meeting Trustee Tristine M. Tristan gave an extended report on recent community and school events, including the Hall of Fame awards, Rancho Adult School alumni outreach and multiple school activities. Tristan said the adult school offers many classes and encouraged the community to explore those programs.

The board president described a site visit to El Rancho High School, thanking Principal Goyaga and interim superintendent Miss Belgado and relaying Principal Goyaga’s comment that the campus shows improved behavior and cleanliness; the transcript records Principal Goyaga saying, "You got to come. You got to come." Trustees praised fall sports teams, CTE programs (culinary, construction and others) and student performances and noted plans to recognize teams and students at the January meeting.

Trustees also described Veterans Day ceremonies and proposed a district recognition for El Rancho alumni who served in the armed forces on Armed Forces Day in May. Several trustees closed their remarks by wishing the community a happy Thanksgiving and by asking residents to support local food banks.

Later in the meeting trustees submitted requests for future agenda items and information updates: the status and implementation of SERS, a follow-up presentation on the cell‑phone policy, an inclusive‑playground discussion (including communication boards) and an education‑workforce housing survey to assess local interest and feasibility. The board agreed to consider these items in future meetings.
