In a separate vote, the board approved Ordinance 2025-5-1 to establish the position of Village Administrator. Trustees discussed that creating the position completes the ordinance step and that the harder work ahead will be forming a search committee and recruiting candidates. A trustee noted that the county and city management association have offered support for the search.
The employee handbook review and other routine items were discussed but not acted on beyond direction to continue review and to involve legal and insurer-provided HR services before finalizing changes.
