Orlando firefighter Lt. Ron Huguenard honored as Florida Professional Firefighter of the Year

City leaders recognized Lieutenant Ron Huguenard at the April 6 meeting after he was named the Florida Professional Firefighter of the Year.
Fire Chief Prevatt introduced Lt. Huguenard, noting his nearly 20 years of service at Station 2 in District 5, his role as treasurer for Orlando IAFF Local 1365, and his service in the Florida State Guard. The chief said Lt. Huguenard was selected from tens of thousands of professional firefighters across the state and that the city is proud he represents Orlando.
Lt. Huguenard thanked the council and his fellow firefighters, calling the honor meaningful and crediting the department’s culture of excellence.
