Officials said they will use Albany County’s ticketing software to improve enforcement, issue tickets for abuses and increase education (for example, instructing residents how to dry paint for normal pickup). Staff acknowledged legitimate concerns — seniors or residents who need help to get bulky items to the curb — and said they will continue to provide guidance and individualized assistance where feasible.
The board expressed broad support for canceling the rental program and for moving to a consolidated monthly special‑pickup schedule but asked administration to finalize enforcement and notification plans and to publish the pickup calendar and sign‑up procedures well in advance.
