Brownfield staff releases RFP and submits FROM project; Greene announces resignation

Haley Stichman, Community Development Coordinator for Kent County, told the board that the Request for Proposals (RFP) for upcoming brownfield work was officially released earlier that week and has been distributed to prospective contractors and stakeholders. Stichman also said the FROM project was submitted to the State this week and encouraged anyone considering projects to contact County staff early to ensure coordination and support.
Vice-Chair Dan Wells said the county should craft a clear message about the FROM project that could include testimonials to show project impact and persuade both the public and local governments as well as private stakeholders. Commissioner Ben Greene told the board he intends to resign from the Brownfield Board and to appoint Commissioner Kallman as his replacement; Greene said he will submit a formal resignation and make the appointment at the next Board of Commissioners meeting. Wells thanked Greene for his service and acknowledged contributions from all board members.
No formal votes were taken on project approvals during this session; staff updates were accepted for information and will guide outreach and coordination with prospective applicants.
