Ventnor officials preview tree-planting, boardwalk construction and holiday events

Commissioners also reported the boardwalk construction team held its first construction meeting and that mobilization is expected to accelerate in about two weeks; staff promised more information about access and timing in the coming days to ensure grant-funded work proceeds on schedule. The commission announced community events including a Halloween Fest on Oct. 26 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m., parade 12:30 p.m.), a tree lighting on Dec. 5 and a parade on Dec. 6, plus related weekend activities and a city-hall lighting on Dec. 15.
The commission encouraged residents to monitor city communications for boardwalk access updates and event details; the streetscape work includes replacement plantings and pruning to reduce tree conflicts with lighting and utilities.
