Commissioners also voted unanimously to forward a grant request to the full commission from the Helen Ross McNabb Center for the Tennessee State Government Opioid Abatement Council Community Grants Cycle Three. The request, as presented, seeks up to $2,500,000 annually for three years with no local matching funds required and was given a favorable recommendation by the budget committee.
Other items the workshop forwarded included Resolution 263013, authorizing the county’s use of cooperative purchasing agreements (revised during the workshop to add additional cooperatives), and Resolution 263014, an interlocal agreement among the town of Lewisville, Blount County, the sheriff of Blount County and Blount County General Sessions Court. Appointments forwarded to the full commission included Heather Martin to the Blount Memorial Foundation board and four appointments to the Veterans Affairs Committee (Samuel Shore, Denise Weston, Sai Miles and Lloyd Hansen).
