Montclair Council adopts consent calendar, schedules general plan for Dec. 2
Summary

The Montclair City Council unanimously approved the consent calendar after a motion by Councilmember Lopez and a second from Mayor Pro Tem Johnson.
The vote was taken electronically and recorded as 5-0 in favor of adopting the consent calendar as presented. Councilmember Lopez moved the action and Mayor Pro Tem Johnson seconded.
City Manager (unnamed) used the meeting to announce several administrative items: recognition plans for Montclair High School's boys water polo team, and that the draft general plan and related documents discussed at a prior workshop will be on the council agenda for Monday, Dec. 2, following final Planning Commission review. The manager also said the county'level Council of Governments will coordinate on regional stormwater issues raised at a recent presentation.
Public safety and public works updates included a note that bids will be procured for freeway landscaping at the Central and Mont Vista ramps, with a separate contractor expected to begin construction in the spring and a roughly one-year timeline for planting work.
A representative from the Human Services Department briefed the council on community events and seasonal programs, including a Holly Jolly event on Dec. 5 (6:00'8:30 p.m.), a holiday home-decor contest with applications due Dec. 6 at 6 p.m., the Santa route and toy drive "Dashing through Montclair" on Dec. 7, and toy/food donation drives at the Montclair Costco on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13.
The council did not pull any items from the consent calendar before the vote. The next regular meeting will consider the general plan materials on Dec. 2, as staff and the Planning Commission finalize their review.
