Woodford County Fiscal Court approves multiple grants, program restarts and procurement steps

The court adopted a resolution allocating emergency needs assistance across local nonprofits: $20,000 to Bluegrass Community Action Partnership; $25,000 to the Woodford Foundation; $5,000 to United Way of the Bluegrass (to support a waypoint center at the county health department); $2,000 to the Woodford County Food Pantry; $2,000 to the Salvation Army; and $2,000 to The Station. The motion carried unanimously.
On procurement, the court authorized advertising and beginning the bid process for a new ambulance for Woodford County EMS and approved renewal of Microsoft licensing. The county clerk's office, which said a sealed bid process for digitization had failed, received ratified authority to seek quotes for a KDLA digitization grant and the court accepted a quote from Software Management for $178,432.95 to support on-site digitization and book-level indexing for the grant application.
The court also approved re-starting a Young and New Farmer grant program with a priority for new applicants, authorized a supplemental agreement providing $152,500 in right-of-way funding for the Big Sink sidewalk project with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and declared certain electronic equipment surplus for proper disposal.
Several items were noted as being reimbursable or grant-funded: the clerk's digitization work was to be submitted with a KDLA grant application; the EWP buyout environmental and appraisal expenses discussed elsewhere in the meeting were described as reimbursable by USDA; and the Big Sink supplemental funding was a KYTC award.
