The Weed City Council honored Anthony “Tony” Pimel for 30 years of service to the city, presenting him with a plaque and thanking him for decades of work as a city mechanic.
A council member said Pimel "wasn't just a mechanic; he went over and beyond his line of duty," listing work on water leaks, sewer plugs and pipe replacements. Debbie, introduced as a supporting family member, joined Pimel at the podium for the presentation and the council applauded.
Council members said the city has benefited from Pimel's long service and wished him well in retirement.
