Commissioners asked about outreach and training for local builders and designers given the code changes; staff said the department will review the published code, organize outreach and workshops for the local design and construction community, and provide guidance on how the new ASCE hazard‑mapping process will be applied.
The commission passed a resolution recommending the city adopt the 2025 code package; the motion carried with four votes in favor and one absence recorded (Commissioner Imhof).
