Deputy Chief Jacobson told the Warrenville Public Safety and Finance Committee that Fourth of July enforcement produced 17 fireworks calls for service citywide, nine of which were initiated by officers and eight by residents — a decline from 23 calls the previous year.
Jacobson said officers issued one citation and one written warning during the July 4 events. He added that command staff and sergeants have begun planning adjustments to patrols and resources for next year’s larger celebration.
Alderman Wider thanked the police department for the sustained enforcement effort, noting the multi‑year program has reduced random fireworks and improved neighborhood safety. The committee took the report as informational; no action was required.
